The Meteorite dial is cut from the Muonionalusta Meteorite which landed in Scandinavia a million years ago and is dated back 4.5653 billion years! It is thought to be one of the oldest meteorites ever found and is even older than planet earth.
Raw meteorite material is typically grey in appearance. The blue tone comes from a specialized treatment process. In this case, the meteorite dial is exposed to a controlled plasma process, where the surface is subjected to a high-energy, low-pressure environment. This excites the iron content within the meteorite, creating that vibrant blue hue.
The effect is similar to what happens during atmospheric entry at high velocities, where extreme conditions alter the material’s surface appearance — but here it’s carefully controlled to achieve a consistent and durable finish.
The result is a completely natural meteorite base with a unique, engineered color transformation, which is why each dial still retains its individual Widmanstätten pattern while displaying that striking blue tone.
